Abu Dhabi has strengthened its position as a leading global tourism and cultural destination, supported by rising visitor arrivals, expanded leisure infrastructure and stronger hotel revenues.
The emirate’s tourism performance is driven by a diversified portfolio spanning culture, heritage, nature, entertainment and major international events.
Covering a vast geographical area, Abu Dhabi offers a wide range of attractions, from historic forts, museums and archaeological sites to deserts, islands, beaches, mountains, gardens and ghaf forests, making it an appealing destination for culture and nature enthusiasts alike.
The emirate is home to some of the world’s most prominent museums and cultural institutions, alongside major sports and entertainment destinations. Its annual events calendar includes the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit, the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, the Abu Dhabi Food Festival, the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair and Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, among other regional and global events.
These assets have also positioned Abu Dhabi as a preferred venue for conferences, exhibitions, trade fairs and international sporting events, helping to sustain tourism demand throughout the year.
Within this broader tourism ecosystem, entrepreneurs are playing an increasingly important role by developing innovative projects that reflect Abu Dhabi’s heritage while shaping its future as a global destination.
The sixth edition of the World’s Coolest Winter campaign marked a key milestone in boosting domestic tourism and reinforcing the UAE’s position on the global tourism map.
Among the tourism companies operating in the emirate is Premier Travel and Tourism, founded a decade ago by Emirati entrepreneur Saud Mohammed Sultan Al Darmaki.
Al Darmaki is widely recognised as a pioneer in sustainable tourism among Emirati entrepreneurs and was awarded Best Arab Tourism Content on YouTube in 2019 by the Tourism Media Centre at the Middle East level.
