Gleac, a Dubai-based upskilling platform, has partnered with Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited to launch its disruptive app on Jio Phone, Reliance Jio Fiber set-top box, and JioBook by the end of this month, according to Sallyann Della Casa, one of the 4% of women in the world with a patent-pending method and algorithm (for measuring soft skills) as a sole inventor.
“While our core market remains younger job seekers and emerging leaders, we are going to introduce a disruptive ‘Restart programme’ for non-digital natives to signal their human soft talents for emerging positions, which will mostly be pre-millennials and those reaching 50 and older in career pivots.” We hope to develop a sandbox and offer it up to job boards, learning experience platform (LXP) and learning management system (LMS) providers, as well as any watering holes where human talent congregates,” Casa stated. Casa is on a quest to tap into the vast talent pool in MENAP and India.
“Many people are unaware that in 2018, the number of adults over the age of 64 outnumbered children under the age of five. This was the first time this had happened in history. This is a significant population shift. Many people are also unaware that occupations in the metaverse, for example, require non-technical talents and a wide range of human soft skills, which this population possesses plenty. However, neither they nor the gatekeepers of this developing technology are aware of this. This age group accounts for about 10% of the world’s population, and it is expected to grow to 16% in the next decades,” she noted.
Gleac was selected to participate in Expo 2020 and to power, the Future is Human Pavillion on Dubai Cares. Casa, a former executive at Careem, revealed that her startup’s ‘Skills of the Future’ was one of Expo’s top seven attractions.
“We have the largest data set of human skills application in the workplace for present and emerging jobs thanks to the millions of data sets we collected.” Our data science team is about to delve into what this means for the future of work, developing predictive models that can help governments make informed decisions about their population and which sectors to prioritise as part of a national agenda that is evidence-based and dynamic as people grow and change. We’ve been invited to the World Economic Forum in Davos this year and will be showcasing this in some way.”
“Job ready skills are a necessity for the Indian populace, especially in the changing job landscape with Web3, metaverse, and other technologies. Gleac, which powered the Skills of the Future pavilion at Expo2020 Dubai, is expected to augment this space. Our users will be able to benchmark their job readiness and develop their skills by connecting with industry professionals from around the world who will advise them as they upskill. With some of our other edutech apps reaching millions of downloads, we’ve seen a lot of traction with people in this market. We look forward to long and fruitful cooperation in which we can actually make a difference in our users’ lives.” Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited vice-president R V Balasubramaniam Iyer.
Aside from the Jio contract, Gleac has incorporated Monster, a job portal platform with a 60 million user database, to help Covid job applicants get to the top of the job search by showing their human soft skills.
“In the MENAP region, we plan to launch RESTART with partners, targeting up to 2% of pre-millennials and expanding our footprint with B2B customers by signalling human abilities such as critical thinking, creative thinking, and entrepreneurial attitude.” With our 500+ worldwide industry experts who fuel our soft skills feedback loop in our solution, we’re also releasing the first NFT for the utility of time in the region,” Casa stated.
