Paribu has acquired CoinMENA in a deal valued at up to US$240 million, marking Türkiye’s largest fintech transaction to date. The move also represents the country’s first cross-border acquisition of a digital asset platform. With this step, Paribu enters the Middle East and North Africa market, which continues to see rapid crypto adoption. The company gains access to two active digital asset licenses, since CoinMENA operates under both Bahrain and Dubai regulatory authorities. As a result, Paribu strengthens its compliance-focused strategy while advancing toward multi-jurisdiction growth.
Founded in 2020 by Talal Tabbaa and Dina Sam’an, CoinMENA has become a key licensed provider in the region. Paribu’s expanded regulatory footprint now positions the company among the few operators in the region with approvals across multiple markets. Moreover, this milestone builds on Paribu’s recent progress, including the launch of Paribu Custody in 2024 and its entry into capital markets after receiving authorisation from the Capital Markets Board in 2025.
Strengthening Regional Presence and Scale
The acquisition further solidifies Paribu’s strategic focus on broader regional expansion. CoinMENA, headquartered in Bahrain, has raised nearly US$20 million from investors such as BECO, Arab Bank Switzerland, Circle and Bunat Ventures. The platform currently serves more than 1.5 million users across 45 countries and provides access to over 50 cryptocurrencies. It also supports several local currencies, which makes it well positioned for continued growth throughout the MENA region.
Yasin Oral, Founder and CEO of Paribu, said: “This transaction is a turning point not only for Paribu but also for the digital asset and broader finance ecosystem in Türkiye and the MENA region. With this acquisition, we have expanded our licensed operations to a wider geography and become a regulated player in one of the world’s most crypto-adoptive markets.
“We are proud to be leading Türkiye’s largest fintech acquisition and its first international digital asset platform deal.
“CoinMENA is an ideal partner for our regional expansion. With this step, we are opening a new chapter in Paribu’s growth journey, extending our presence into the MENA region and contributing to the ongoing consolidation of the global digital asset industry, while building on the strong foundation we have established in Türkiye.”
A New Phase for CoinMENA and Regional Users
As the digital asset landscape in the region continues to evolve, the combination of both platforms brings new opportunities for users. CoinMENA’s founders, Talal Tabbaa and Dina Sam’an, emphasized this point in their joint statement: “The MENA digital asset market continues to grow and mature, and joining forces with Paribu will help accelerate that momentum.
“This acquisition is the most transformative milestone in CoinMENA’s history. By combining CoinMENA’s regional expertise with Paribu’s technology, we are poised to develop a comprehensive suite of digital asset products for users across Türkiye and the MENA region.
“Paribu’s investment validates the strength of what we have built, and together we aim to set new standards for access and innovation in the region’s digital asset space.”
