ADNOC Distribution, the UAE’s largest mobility and convenience retailer, has introduced a new roadside retail concept, ‘The Hub by ADNOC,’ designed to strengthen its non-fuel portfolio and establish community-centric destinations throughout the country.
The inaugural site has opened in Shawamekh, Abu Dhabi, with six locations scheduled by the end of 2025 and a projected network of 30 by 2030.
According to ADNOC Distribution, the hubs will feature retail spaces three times larger than conventional service stations, offering fuel, EV charging and vehicle services alongside food, leisure and family-oriented amenities.
The company anticipates that the hubs will generate $30 million in annual EBITDA by 2030.
The launch was attended by Dr Sultan Al Jaber, MD and Group CEO of ADNOC, and ADNOC Distribution CEO Bader Saeed Al Lamki. Al Lamki described the concept as fundamental to the company’s expansion strategy, calling it “a blueprint for how we will grow, diversify and serve our customers both now and in the years to come.” He added that the model aligns with the UAE’s Year of Community through its focus on family and commuter-friendly spaces.
Each hub is designed as a versatile community venue, combining lifestyle offerings such as dining, fitness and recreation with essential mobility services.
ADNOC Distribution confirmed that 90 per cent of retail units across the first six locations have already been leased.
The company is leveraging its land bank to develop larger mixed-use destinations that open new revenue opportunities and encourage longer customer visits.
Planned facilities include children’s play areas, outdoor fitness zones and sports amenities such as padel courts and gyms.
Retail partners at the initial sites include Lulu Hypermarket, McDonald’s, Starbucks, KFC, Hardee’s, Al Baik and ADNOC Distribution’s own ‘Oasis by ADNOC’ convenience stores.
Select hubs will also incorporate seasonal pop-up retail concepts.
ADNOC Distribution oversees more than 1,100 occupied and awarded rental properties and operates the UAE’s largest service-station network, comprising over 560 sites and more than 380 Oasis convenience stores. The company said it is using this extensive network to accelerate long-term growth in non-fuel retail.
Across the first nine months of 2025, ADNOC Distribution recorded a 15 per cent year-on-year increase in non-fuel retail gross profit, while membership of ADNOC Rewards surpassed 2.5 million.
