The UAE Ministry of Economy has confirmed that VeraViews will be incorporated under the NextGen FDI programme.
VeraViews is an innovative digital advertising platform using distributed ledger technology to verify ad views, block harmful content, and prevent bad actors from funding scams or extremist sites through the media supply chain. Its proprietary Proof of View technology ensures transparency and security.
Currently testing its video-ad-serving product, VeraViews will establish its global headquarters in Dubai Media City, contributing to the UAE’s efforts to regulate the advertising sector by ensuring that marketing budgets reach verified audiences through accredited agencies and publishers.
The company joins other firms benefiting from the NextGen FDI initiative, which aims to enhance the UAE’s competitiveness by offering advantages like fast-track incorporation, bulk visas, and access to banking and real estate.
VeraViews’ blockchain-based platform simplifies the advertiser-publisher relationship while identifying and removing malicious actors, helping to position the UAE as a leader in digital advertising.
Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Dr Thani Al Zeyoudi, praised VeraViews’ technology, emphasising its potential to revolutionise the media sector and create a transparent and trustworthy advertising industry.
VeraViews CEO Mark Firth expressed excitement about establishing the company’s headquarters in the UAE, highlighting the support from the NextGen FDI programme and the region’s dynamic media landscape.
The global digital advertising market is worth over $550B, with the Middle East’s advertising sector projected to reach $6.9B by the end of 2024. The UAE, as the second-largest market in the region, spent US$1.8B on advertising in 2023.
