The Ministry of Economy and Tourism has introduced “TM Market Place,” the UAE’s first online platform dedicated to trademark purchasing and trading.
Developed under the UAE Government Leaders Programme, the initiative is the first of its kind in the region and aims to reinforce the country’s intellectual property framework while enhancing innovation and competitiveness across the business landscape.
The platform creates a secure and transparent environment where trademark owners can list and trade their registered marks, connecting them with investors and entrepreneurs locally and globally. It supports the UAE’s vision for a knowledge-based economy and strengthens the value of intangible business assets.
His Excellency Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri explained that the platform reflects collaboration between the Ministry and the UAE Government Leaders Programme. He described it as an unprecedented regional initiative that offers a safe and transparent space for listing and trading UAE-registered trademarks while linking owners with investors and entrepreneurs.
He added that the project marks a significant step in enabling intangible assets to be fairly valued and monetised. By exposing trademarks to a wider pool of potential buyers, the platform transforms underused intellectual property into productive economic assets, particularly benefitting SMEs and family-owned businesses.
TM Market Place allows trademark owners to digitally list or sell their marks while preserving full rights protection. Investors and entrepreneurs gain access to authenticated and ready-to-use trademarks, lowering market-entry barriers and accelerating time-to-market.
The Ministry will supervise the platform to ensure adherence to national and international IP regulations, including Federal Decree-Law No. 36 of 2021 on Trademarks. Only UAE-registered trademarks will be eligible for transactions, all of which must be completed through verified user accounts and secure digital payments.
The platform is operational from the outset and aims to raise the number of trademark registrations by 20 percent within its first year.
According to the Ministry, trademark registrations in the UAE continue to grow steadily, with 34,234 national and international trademarks registered between January and early November 2025.
