The United Arab Emirates has confirmed that it will assume accommodation expenses for all travellers currently stranded within the country.
After the temporary suspension of UAE airspace, flights operating to and from the nation were cancelled, resulting in many visitors remaining in Dubai longer than initially planned.
In a statement released on Sunday, 1 March, the General Civil Aviation Authority announced that the UAE would cover all hosting and lodging costs for affected passengers during the ongoing situation.
The statement also detailed broader measures implemented by the authority to mitigate the impact of recent regional developments.
It noted that national carriers, including Emirates and Etihad, alongside airports such as DXB, have assisted more than 20,000 passengers impacted by recent flight rescheduling.
Support measures have included the provision of temporary accommodation, meals and refreshments, as well as assistance with rebooking in accordance with approved operational procedures.
In coordination with relevant authorities, the UAE’s national airlines have also overseen several arriving and departing flights disrupted by operational challenges.
Passengers have been transported to destinations within the country, transit travellers have been offered temporary lodging, and all regulatory requirements have been fulfilled in line with established frameworks.
The Authority affirmed that coordination between airlines and airports remains ongoing to monitor flight schedules and rearrange services, ensuring a safe and organised return to normal operations when conditions permit.
The GCAA further urged passengers to rely on official communication channels for updates and to contact their respective airlines directly regarding any changes to their flights.
