The UAE saw an extraordinary amount of rain on Tuesday, causing significant damage across the country. Recovery efforts are underway, but another round of showers is expected exactly one week later.
According to the UAE’s National Center of Meteorology (NCM), the weather forecast for April 23 predicts partly cloudy conditions with intermittent cloud cover.
NCM has warned of the possibility of light to moderate rainfall, especially in certain areas, and a potential drop in temperatures along the coast.
In its latest five-day forecast bulletin, the NCM has outlined expectations of light to moderate northeasterly to southeasterly winds for Tuesday.
These winds are anticipated to transition to a northwesterly direction later in the day, potentially reaching speeds of 15 to 25 kilometres per hour, with gusts possibly reaching up to 40 kilometres per hour.
According to the NCM, today’s weather will be notably humid, particularly in coastal and internal areas, with the potential for fog or mist formation. However, as the day progresses, expect skies to clear up, becoming fair to partly cloudy, especially towards the east.
Winds are forecasted to be light to moderate, blowing from the northeasterly to southeasterly direction, with speeds ranging between 10 and 20 kilometers per hour, occasionally gusting up to 30 km/hr.
Looking ahead to Saturday, the NCM advises that humidity will prevail in the morning, especially in coastal and internal areas, with a chance of fog or mist. By tomorrow afternoon, skies are expected to be fair to partly cloudy, with the possibility of cloud formation over mountains, potentially resulting in rainfall.
