The UAE will confirm petrol prices for September 2025 later this week. The announcement follows a slight decline in August, continuing a period of relative price stability.
Despite minor fluctuations over the past year, petrol remains significantly cheaper now compared to the same time in 2024.
August 2025 Prices and Year-on-Year Comparison
As of August 2025, fuel prices in the UAE were:
- E-Plus 91: AED 2.50 per litre (down from AED 2.51 in July)
- Special 95: AED 2.57 per litre (down from AED 2.58 in July)
- Super 98: AED 2.69 per litre (down from AED 2.70 in July)
- Diesel: AED 2.78 per litre (up from AED 2.63 in July)
In comparison, August 2024 prices were much higher:
- E-Plus 91: AED 2.86
- Special 95: AED 2.93
- Super 98: AED 3.05
- Diesel: AED 2.95
This indicates a notable year-on-year drop across all fuel categories.
Fuel Price Trends and Market Dynamics
The UAE Fuel Price Committee froze petrol prices during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. However, since March 2021, pricing has been market-driven, influenced by global oil price movements.
Recent price adjustments reflect changes in international crude oil rates, contributing to the stability seen in recent months.
