The United Arab Emirates and the United States are focused on enhancing their strategic partnership in advanced technology and innovation. At CES 2025, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, met with US officials and business leaders to strengthen technological ties and solidify the UAE’s position as a hub for AI and cutting-edge tech.
Al Zeyoudi discussed opportunities for collaboration with Nevada Lt. Governor Stavros Anthony, the US Chamber of Commerce, and leading tech companies like Accenture and Qualcomm. He highlighted the UAE’s world-class infrastructure and skilled workforce as key factors in attracting US businesses. Al Zeyoudi also stressed that the UAE’s NextGen FDI initiative offers significant prospects for US companies seeking access to high-growth markets in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
The UAE’s total investment in the US exceeds USD 35B, and bilateral trade reached USD 28.3B in 2024, reflecting a 46.2% increase compared to 2019. The UAE is the US’ largest trading partner in the Arab world, accounting for 27% of US trade with the region. Additionally, the UAE holds over 50% of Arab countries’ FDI in the US, with US investments in the UAE exceeding USD 5B by 2022.
Al Zeyoudi’s visit highlighted the continued importance of fostering long-term technology partnerships between the two nations.
