Her Excellency Lana Nusseibeh participated in the 2026 Munich Security Conference, where she held more than 40 bilateral meetings with heads of government, foreign ministers and senior officials from over 20 countries. Moreover, discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties, reviewing current developments and identifying opportunities for deeper cooperation.
She also met leaders of key international organisations, including the European Union, North Atlantic Treaty Organization and Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, in addition to senior UN officials and civil society representatives.
Furthermore, Nusseibeh joined Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber in a meeting with Ursula von der Leyen. She also met Roberta Metsola. Both engagements underscored alignment on advancing UAE–EU economic relations, including progress toward a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. Consequently, economic cooperation emerged as a central theme in discussions with European counterparts.
In this context, Nusseibeh highlighted the UAE’s role as a strategic bridge between Europe and high-growth markets. Additionally, she addressed regional developments, including Sudan, where she reaffirmed the UAE’s support for an immediate ceasefire and humanitarian access.
At the conclusion of her visit, Her Excellency Nusseibeh said: “The Munich Security Conference is a unique platform for effective diplomacy, and we thank Germany, the State of Bavaria, and the City of Munich for their exemplary organization of this event. The UAE will continue to work pragmatically with partners from around the world to safeguard peace and stability and create conditions for sustained growth and prosperity.”
