The UAE has reiterated its position as a long-term partner in energy and industry for Europe, outlining over €38 billion in pledged investments across the region during a senior-level reception convened on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
The gathering, led by Dr Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Special Envoy to Germany, alongside UAE Ambassador to Germany Ahmed Alattar, convened more than 300 policymakers, business leaders and key stakeholders from across Europe.
Addressing participants, Al Jaber highlighted the increasing strategic relevance of dependable energy alliances amid global volatility. He noted that in an era where energy security underpins national security, trusted, long-term partnerships are indispensable, reaffirming the UAE’s commitment to strengthening Europe’s energy stability and economic resilience.
Prominent European leaders, including Markus Söder, Minister-President of Bavaria, acknowledged the UAE’s role as a reliable supplier and investor, while Alattar emphasised the depth and durability of bilateral relations in his remarks.
The UAE’s initiatives are being advanced through national energy champions such as ADNOC, XRG and Masdar. Collectively, these entities are spearheading diversified energy supply, substantial capital deployment and industrial cooperation across Europe, with combined commitments exceeding €38 billion in energy and industrial projects throughout the continent.
