The local UAE stock market witnessed a significant increase in market value, soaring by approximately AED 220B in the first six months of 2023. Foreign investors are driving the surge in demand, while new listings are contributing to the increase.
Among the notable listings that contributed to the market value growth were ADNOC Gas and Presight AI in the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), and ADNOC Supply and Services and Al Ansari Financial Services in the Dubai Financial Market (DFM). By the end of June, the combined market value of stocks traded on the UAE’s primary exchanges reached AED 3.426T. The ADX accounted for the majority with AED 2.774T, while the DFM held AED 652.1B.
During the first half of the year, trading activities in local stocks amounted to over AED 218B, with AED 171.6B attributed to the ADX and AED 46.4B to the DFM. The total number of shares traded exceeded 53 billion, divided between 27.6 billion in Abu Dhabi and 25.4 billion in Dubai. Throughout this period, both markets collectively executed more than 2.5 million transactions.
