The UAE stock markets continued their positive trend on Monday, with investor sentiment improving. Blue-chip communication stocks drove gains on the Abu Dhabi bourse, while property giant Emaar led Dubai’s financial market to its best performance in a month, according to WAM.
The Abu Dhabi Index (FADGI) closed 0.752% higher at 9,501.150 points, because of strong trading in telecom firms, including SUDATEL from Sudan (+11.810%), QTEL from Qatar (+10.890%), and Etisalat (+3.350%). Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank closed up 5.010% at AED 10.480, and Aldar Properties closed up 2.8% at AED 4.780.
In Dubai, Emaar Properties gained 3.21% to close at AED 5.780, while Emaar Development rose 1.090% to AED 5.570. EmiratesNBD, Dubai’s main lender, closed 1.52% higher at AED 13.35, contributing to the overall positive performance of the market.
