President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has received an invitation to attend the upcoming G7 Summit in Canada. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney extended the invite, underscoring the UAE’s growing influence in global affairs, especially in security and economic leadership.
The G7 comprises Canada, the US, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the UK. This bloc of industrialised democracies meets annually to address major global issues.
Agenda to Focus on Economy, Peace, and Digital Innovation
Key themes of this year’s summit will include international peace and security, economic resilience, climate action, and digital transformation. Artificial intelligence is expected to take centre stage—an area where the UAE has already earned global recognition for its forward-thinking policies and rapid advancements.
The invitation signals how the UAE is being increasingly regarded as a global stakeholder in shaping the future of digital economies and sustainable development.
Saudi Crown Prince to Miss Summit
A senior diplomat confirmed that Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will not attend the event. His absence comes as the G7 selectively engages with regional powers based on shared priorities and diplomatic alignment.
With this invitation, the UAE cements its role as a progressive voice in international policy-making, especially as it expands global partnerships in innovation, energy, and peacebuilding.
