The UAE is preparing to unveil updated petrol prices for February 2026.
Although fuel prices rose across all categories during 2025, with ongoing fluctuations pushing up refuelling costs, the new year opened with sharp reductions.
Petrol and diesel prices fell in January, marking the steepest cuts seen in more than a year.
UAE Petrol Prices Lowered in 2026
Fuel distributors set the price of E-Plus 91 at AED2.34 per litre and diesel at AED2.55 per litre for January 2026.
This represents a clear decline from December 2025, when E-Plus 91 stood at AED2.51 and diesel was priced at AED2.85 per litre.
Special 95 and Super 98 have also become more affordable compared to the end of last year, dropping from AED2.58 to AED2.42 per litre and from AED2.70 to AED2.53 per litre respectively.
From January 1, fuel prices across the UAE have been revised as follows:
• E-Plus 91 now costs AED2.34 per litre, down from AED2.51 in December.
• Special 95 has fallen to AED2.42 per litre from AED2.58.
• Super 98 is priced at AED2.53 per litre, compared with AED2.70 previously.
• Diesel has declined to AED2.55 per litre from AED2.85.
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Fuel Price Committee suspended changes to petrol prices, keeping rates fixed nationwide.
These controls were lifted in March 2021 as global oil prices started climbing, restoring a pricing mechanism driven by market conditions.
Global crude oil price movements continue to play a key role in shaping petrol price trends in the UAE.
