As part of its continued efforts to oversee operations within the national food security framework and bolster the local agricultural sector, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MOCCAE) conducted an extensive field inspection tour, visiting several Emirati farmers across the UAE.
The inspection was headed by Mohammed Saeed Al Nuaimi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, alongside a delegation of Ministry officials.
The initiative focused on evaluating the performance of the local agricultural system while ensuring a steady and reliable supply of fresh produce to markets nationwide, in line with consumer demand.
During the visit, the team reviewed farm conditions and crop safety following recent weather changes and rainfall across the country. The tour also reinforced the Ministry’s ongoing support for farmers through practical technical guidance and advisory services, aimed at maintaining stable and efficient internal supply chains.
The visit further underscored the sector’s resilience, highlighting its capacity to respond effectively to evolving conditions and convert challenges into opportunities for advancing sustainable production.
Al Nuaimi and the Ministry’s delegation engaged directly with farm owners and Emirati farmers, gaining insights into their ambitions and the challenges they encounter daily. These discussions explored collaborative approaches to develop practical solutions that support business continuity and enhance the competitiveness of local agricultural produce.
Mohammed Saeed Al Nuaimi noted that such field engagements reflect the Ministry’s strong focus on reinforcing food security as a key national priority.
He stated that amid ongoing challenges, national farms and domestic production have continued to play a vital role in ensuring market stability and food security. He added that the Ministry’s presence on the ground demonstrates its firm support for Emirati farmers, recognising them as essential partners in achieving national objectives.
He further highlighted that this strategic approach is supported by a comprehensive range of national initiatives and projects. Among these is the upcoming Emirates Agriculture Conference and Exhibition, set to host its second edition under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Scheduled to take place in Al Ain from 22 to 26 April, the event will act as a key platform to showcase the strength and progress of the UAE’s agricultural sector, reinforcing efforts to position national farms as robust economic contributors.
He also reiterated that these inspection tours form part of a long-term operational approach rather than a one-off initiative. The Ministry plans to expand and intensify such visits in the coming period, covering more farms, border entry points, and critical facilities linked to the food security system across all emirates.
