Total assets of the UAE’s 22 national banks increased by 4% (117.3 billion AED) in the first five months of 2022 to reach AED 3.23 trillion.
By the end of May, it accounted for 87.8% of total banking sector assets of AED3.442 trillion, with the rest held by foreign banks.

The total assets of the 22 national banks in the UAE grew by 4 percent – or AED 117.3 billion – to hit AED 3.023 trillion in the first five months of 2022.
According to the latest figures from the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (CBUAE), AED 3,442 billion accounted for 87.8% of total banking sector assets at the end of May.
