The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) has introduced a simplified system for Emirates ID renewal and replacement, enabling citizens to complete the process in a single step instead of multiple procedures.
Under this new approach, the validity of renewed IDs will be automatically assigned according to the applicant’s age, mirroring the method used for passports. Citizens aged 21 and above will receive IDs valid for 10 years, while those under 21 will be issued IDs valid for five years.
Authorities stated that the updated system is designed to streamline administrative procedures, cut down waiting times, and improve the overall experience for citizens. The single-step renewal and replacement service is now operational across all ICP channels, allowing faster and more efficient ID management nationwide.
