Rain and fog are anticipated in the UAE on Monday, February 26, prompting authorities to issue a cautionary driving advisory for motorists. The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecasted Monday’s weather to be partly to mostly cloudy, particularly in the east, with a chance of rainfall and a noticeable temperature decrease.
According to a statement by NCM, the humidity will increase at night and on Tuesday morning, with a potential for fog or light fog formation in certain inland areas.
In the UAE weather forecast, the wind is expected to be light to moderate in speed, particularly active over the sea, and with dusty conditions, according to Arabian Business.
Abu Dhabi Police previously urged UAE drivers to prioritize safe and attentive driving in the face of rain and unpredictable weather, emphasizing the need to avoid distractions and concentrate solely on the road.
The Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police stated, “When the speed reduction system on roads is activated, motorists should strictly adhere to the designated speed limits, maintain a safe distance from other vehicles, avoid abrupt braking, and significantly reduce speed when turning to prevent skidding.”
The directive continued, “Pull over to the side of the road immediately if visibility becomes limited.”
Emphasizing proactive measures for passenger safety while driving in the rain, the police stressed the importance of ensuring clear vision by keeping car windows clean and maintaining headlights for optimal visibility.
