The UAE Chambers collaborate with JETRO Japan to establish a Joint Business Council, fostering bilateral economic ties.
Humaid Mohammed bin Salem, Secretary-General of the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, has explored the membership structure and criteria for joining the UAE-Japan Business Council, established in July 2023, during a meeting in Dubai with the Director-General of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in Dubai and the Middle East. Ahmed Juma Al Kaabi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Chambers Union, was also present.
The discussion focused on collaboration in trade, technology, healthcare, education, and investment between the public and private sectors of both countries. Bin Salem reiterated the UAE Chambers’ dedication to achieving the Joint Business Council’s objectives, enhancing trade and investment partnerships between the UAE and Japan.
He acknowledged the significant progress in commercial ties, highlighting the council’s formation. With open membership across all sectors in both nations, the council aims to fortify bilateral commercial relations through increased investments and trade.
Bin Salem described this as a strategic partnership, promoting deeper dialogue, heightened joint investments, and the transfer of Japanese technology into the UAE’s innovation landscape. He encouraged the Japanese private sector to explore promising investment opportunities in the UAE, especially in tourism, space exploration, healthcare, oil and gas, mining, energy generation, and industrial projects, according to WAM.
