His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, chaired the UAE Cabinet meeting at Qasr Al Watan, Abu Dhabi, attended by several high-ranking officials, including His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the Etihad High-Speed Passenger Rail, a major infrastructure project set to enhance mobility and economic connectivity. Travelling at 350 km per hour, the railway is expected to contribute over AED 145 billion to GDP in the next 50 years, reinforcing the UAE’s advanced infrastructure. He also announced the UAE Logistics Integration Council to streamline coordination among key entities, aiming to expand the logistics sector from AED 129 billion in 2023 to over AED 200 billion within seven years.
Sheikh Mohammed also launched UAE Government Innovation Month, emphasising the country’s leadership in government innovation through the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation, which shares expertise with over 30 governments. Additionally, the Cabinet approved the National Cybersecurity Strategy, positioning the UAE among the top global cybersecurity performers, ensuring a robust and secure digital infrastructure.
The UAE Strategy for Talent Attraction and Retention 2031 was also endorsed, focusing on key sectors such as technology, renewable energy, healthcare, and aviation to strengthen the UAE’s global competitiveness. According to LinkedIn, the UAE remains a top destination for career growth and quality of life, leading the MENA region in human development.
Further approvals included the National Cybersecurity Strategy’s five pillars governance, protection, innovation, capability building, and partnerships to enhance cybersecurity resilience.
