The UAE Fuel Price Committee announced updated retail fuel prices for April 2026, with petrol and diesel rates rising sharply compared to March. Moreover, the revised prices will take effect from April 1, 2026.
Petrol and diesel prices jump for April
Under the new pricing structure, Super 98 petrol will cost Dh3.39 per litre, up from Dh2.59 in March. Additionally, Special 95 petrol will be priced at Dh3.28 per litre, compared to Dh2.48 last month.
E-Plus petrol will sell for Dh3.20 per litre, rising from Dh2.40 in March. Furthermore, diesel prices increased to Dh4.69 per litre, compared to Dh2.72 previously. As a result, motorists face a broad increase across all fuel categories.
UAE pricing remains linked to global markets
Fuel prices in the UAE remain tied directly to global market movements. Additionally, since deregulation in 2015, pump rates have been adjusted monthly rather than set by the government.
Each month, the Fuel Price Committee reviews average international crude and refined fuel prices to determine retail rates. Therefore, local fuel costs typically track global oil cycles, with monthly adjustments reflecting changes in international benchmarks and pricing trends.
