FAHR has issued a circular to inform all ministries and federal departments about the observance of the Hijri 1445 holiday. According to the Islamic calendar, the Islamic New Year will be celebrated on the first day of Muharram.
In addition, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has announced that July 21 will be an official paid holiday for all employees in the private sector across the UAE in celebration of the Islamic New Year, according to Gulf Business.
This announcement is in line with the Cabinet’s Resolution regarding the official holiday agenda approved for the government and private sectors in 2023.
With the holiday falling on Friday, both public and private sector employees will enjoy a three-day long weekend in July.
