The UAE and Brazil are collaborating to strengthen their already thriving $4.3B trade partnership. Juma Al Kait, Assistant Under-Secretary for International Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Economy, praised the robust UAE-Brazil trade and investment relations during the Brazil-Emirates Conference in Abu Dhabi.
Organised by the Group of Business Leaders (LIDE), the conference gathers public and private-sector representatives to explore new partnership opportunities across sectors such as technology, agribusiness, decarbonisation, infrastructure, real estate, logistics, and tourism.
Bilateral ties between the UAE and Brazil remain strong, with non-oil trade reaching $4.3B in 2023, reflecting a 42.1% increase compared to 2021. Brazil stands as the largest recipient of UAE exports in South America and the second-largest trade partner in the Americas, following the United States, according to Arabian Business.
The UAE has already invested over $5B in the Brazilian economy. Al Kait highlighted the shared ambitious growth plans and common vision for trade, investment, and innovation, inviting Brazilian entities to leverage the UAE’s dynamic business ecosystem with flexible policies and global market access. He emphasized the UAE’s commitment to fostering partnerships with like-minded economies worldwide, particularly within the BRICS community, and highlighted Mercosur nations as natural partners for the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement programme.
