UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev to assess bilateral relations and explore avenues for enhancing cooperation.
The meeting took place at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi during Aliyev’s official working visit, under the framework of the Comprehensive Economic and Strategic Partnership between the two nations.
Deliberations centred on potential collaboration in key sectors, including the economy, investment, development, and renewable energy, aimed at supporting the long-term growth objectives of both countries.
The leaders also addressed the 2026 Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, recently recognising the historic peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed congratulated Aliyev, noting that the award reflects the wisdom demonstrated in achieving an accord that fosters peace, cooperation, and stability in the Caucasus region.
In response, President Aliyev praised the UAE President’s efforts and highlighted the nation’s pivotal diplomatic role in promoting peace, stability, and security at regional and global levels.
