In some areas of the UAE, drivers have the opportunity to receive a discount on their traffic fines.
Police forces in the UAE frequently run campaigns and promotions offering discounts to motorists who have built up financial penalties.
Police in Umm Al Quwain have joined Ajman and Abu Dhabi in offering discounts of up to 50 percent of the cost of traffic fines if they are paid promptly.

Police in Abu Dhabi encourage the early payment of fines. Rather than let fines build up, and run the risk of financial hardship, a 35 percent discount is now offered on fines paid within 60 days of issue. Paying anywhere between 60 days and a calendar year will result in a 25 percent discount.
Abu Dhabi allows offending motorists can pay fines in interest-free instalments to spread the cost. Deferred payments can be made via Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, First Abu Dhabi Bank, Mashreq Bank and Emirates Islamic Bank. Fines can be paid via the Abu Dhabi police website.
Motorists caught offending in Ajman in the UAE can get a 50 per cent reduction on selected offences if they pay before January 6, 2023.
The discount does not cover traffic offenses such as endangering life, jumping red lights and speeding at more than 80kmph above the limit. The discount is applicable to offences committed before November 11.
