The ICAI Abu Dhabi Chapter has announced its 2-day Annual International Seminar which will take place from Feb 4th to Feb 5th, 2023. The event was unveiled during a press conference attended by media team members, where the chapter’s committee structure and individual committee members’ roles and responsibilities were also highlighted.
CA Rohit Dayma, General Secretary opened the meeting by welcoming all media team members and thanking them for supporting the chapter, as well as informing them about the venue and days of the seminar. On the other hand, the Theme of the Seminar and its relevance in today’s business environment, especially after the pandemic, was emphasized by Chairman AC John George, who also assured that businesses that have learned from the pandemic and transformed their models with new innovative ideas have opened up many possibilities and opportunities. The chairman of the Chapter informed the media team that he is expecting more than 800 delegates to attend the seminar, pointing out the importance of media and highlighting few dignitaries which will attend on Day 1 of the seminar.
Vice-Chairman CA Krishnan N V also highlighted main speakers who will grace the event on day 2, informing media team about the chapter’s key associations with sponsors and various organizations in the region, as well as the performance of Kanika Kapoor in the Gala dinner. As Treasurer- CA Priyanka Birla mentioned, such an event would not be possible without the continuous support of the sponsors. Birla also emphasized that this seminar will be attended not only by finance professionals, but various other professionals as well, which will support networking across the different professions, with both delegates and sponsors benefiting by this seminar through building a larger network.
Media and Student Affairs Leader- CA Ajay Singhvi highlighted the initiatives taken by Media and student affair team during 2022 and mentioned that they have organized various career development seminars in many schools and during the ADIS school program, the same was attended by more than 500 students. He pointed out that the Chapter has invited various schools to participate in the annual seminar in order for them to gain practical experience. He further stated that the Chapter is planning school visits with few key seminar speakers to motivate students.
PDC Leader- CA Shafeekh Neelayil highlighted the various PDC events organized during 2022, as the Chapter had organized 29 PDC events in the past year, covering 99 hours of CPE credit. He also said that the Chapter is organizing few of these events along with some other key associations in the region.
While Social Leader CA Anu Thomas emphasized his intention to look after the social domain of the chapter, pointing out that the chapter has organized over 23 social events in the past 12 months, Membership Leader- CA Shafiq highlighted the increase in the membership base, as over 200 new members have been added during 2022. Communication Leader- CA emphasized the role of communication by releasing various Chapter events to members and other partners, and then each of the subcommittee members also expressed their views and roles for the upcoming Annual Seminar.
The event is set to bring together finance professionals and other professionals for opportunities to network and learn from industry experts.
