Tecom Group, which develops and manages business parks and free zones across Dubai, has acquired a fully integrated university campus in Dubai International Academic City, reflecting rising global demand for high-quality education assets.
According to a filing with the Dubai Financial Market on Thursday, the campus consists of several buildings and covers more than 300,000 square feet.
Valued at AED125 million ($34 million), the acquisition comes as leading international universities compete for premium campuses, supported by government initiatives including the National Strategy for Higher Education 2030, the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), and the Education 33 Strategy.
The asset strengthens Tecom’s education ecosystem, which includes Dubai International Academic City and Dubai Knowledge Park, both currently operating at an occupancy rate of 99 percent.
Following the deal, Tecom’s cumulative investment across its commercial and industrial assets has exceeded AED5.5 billion since its July 2022 listing. The group plans to enhance the campus buildings and facilities to meet top-tier quality benchmarks.
Abdulla Belhoul, CEO of Tecom Group, said the acquisition aligns with the company’s expansion strategy and reinforces Dubai International Academic City’s role in attracting globally recognised academic institutions.
