UAE’s aviation industry saw impressive expansion in the first quarter of 2024, welcoming 36.5 million passengers, as reported by the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).

Last week’s unprecedented rainfall and ensuing floods have left numerous buildings and communities across Dubai dealing with the aftermath. For nearly a week, many residents have been without electricity, water, and basic services, prompting them to seek alternative arrangements as the heavy rainfall severely disrupted daily life.

Following the recent torrential rains in the UAE, the CEO of Dubai Airports, Paul Griffiths, has penned an open letter to passengers. Griffiths highlighted the efforts of the teams at Dubai Airports and reassured travellers that all partners were collaborating to ensure the “wellbeing of guests and the restoration of operations.”
