The Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC) and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote sustainable, inclusive, and climate-resilient urban development in the UAE. The collaboration will focus on training, support mechanisms, and knowledge-sharing platforms to enhance the built environment and drive green project implementation.

UAE AI firm G42 has partnered with NVIDIA to boost climate technology, focusing on AI solutions to improve global weather forecasting accuracy. Their initial efforts will centre on a square-kilometre resolution weather model for more precise meteorological predictions.

The UAE’s G42 and Microsoft have announced plans to create two AI centres in Abu Dhabi, furthering their partnership after a $1.5B deal. The first centre will focus on responsible AI use across the Middle East and Global South, bringing together AI practitioners and academic researchers to establish and share best practices.

Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has given the green light to the ‘Tasreef’ project aimed at improving Dubai’s rainwater drainage network. With a total cost of AED 30B, the initiative stands as one of the emirate’s largest strategic infrastructure undertakings. ‘Tasreef’ will significantly enhance Dubai’s rainwater drainage capacity by 700%, covering all areas of the emirate.
