UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font discussed strengthening bilateral ties, focusing on trade, investment, and development during Boric’s visit to the UAE on 29 July.

Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has made history by becoming the first institution in the MENA region to receive the prestigious United Nations Small Island Developing States Partnerships Award. This accolade, awarded on behalf of the UAE, recognised the UAE’s top position in the economic category due to ADFD’s groundbreaking initiatives – the UAE Pacific Partnership Fund and the UAE-Caribbean Renewable Energy Fund.

The Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy (AGDA), a globally leading diplomatic centre of excellence in the UAE, g7+, an intergovernmental organisation of 20 countries that promotes peace and stability through advocacy on aid effectiveness, and ODI, a UK-based independent, global affairs think-tank, today announced  a new coordination mechanism to drive climate action in fragile and conflict-affected areas, in support of the landmark COP28 UAE Declaration on Climate, Relief, Recovery and Peace.

In a serious warning, the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO) stated that there is an 80 percent chance that the annual average global temperature will temporarily surpass 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels for at least one of the next five years.
