His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, gave his approval to the innovative development plan for Palm Jebel Ali.
Palm Jebel Ali is a visionary project incorporated within the framework of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan. This initiative is being spearheaded by Nakheel, a Dubai-based real estate developer.
H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance, along with H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, were present during the masterplan’s approval.
H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid said Dubai will continue to innovate and deliver world-class lifestyle destinations that enhance its status as the globe’s best city to live, work and visit. “We have vast ambitions for the future and we are confident that we can transform our grand vision for development into reality. Palm Jebel Ali will further strengthen our urban infrastructure and consolidate the city’s emergence as one of the world’s leading metropolises. This new groundbreaking project reflects our strategic development plan centred on raising the quality of life and happiness of residents.”
Dubai’s New Phase of Development
His Highness further said, “Dubai has entered a new phase of development driven by innovation and creativity. By taking advantage of the opportunities arising from the evolving global environment, Dubai’s competitiveness and reputation as a thriving global business and tourism hub continue are set to grow further. We remain committed to shaping a brighter future both for our people and the world.”
“The urban expansion that Palm Jebel Ali represents is a testament to Dubai’s economic dynamism. It also signifies Dubai’s exceptional outlook as a hub for talent and investment. The project will contribute to Dubai’s sustainable development by opening new avenues for growth in several sectors,” His Highness added.
Among the notable individuals who were present during the approval of the new master plan were H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, the Chairman of Dubai Airports, and the Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group. Also in attendance was H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council. H.E. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, the Director-General of His Highness The Ruler’s Court of Dubai, Managing Director of the Investment Corporation of Dubai, and Chairman of Nakheel, was also present. Additionally, members of the Nakheel Board and various dignitaries were part of the event.
Palm Jebel Ali aims to set a new global standard in waterfront living and provide luxury amenities. It will create a growth corridor and expand the emirate’s territory, according to WAM.
Palm Jebel Ali will have green spaces, and waterfront experiences, and accommodate 35,000 families for luxurious beachside living. It features over 80 hotels, resorts, and various entertainment options.
Palm Jebel Ali will enhance Dubai’s tourism sector and establish itself as an attractive residential destination.
Focus on Renewable Energy and Self-Sufficiency
H.E. Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Shaibani said, “We are honoured to embark on a pathbreaking journey with the new masterplan of Palm Jebel Ali, which is unprecedented in magnitude and scale. The megaproject is inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and will mark a new milestone in the continued growth of the city.”

Palm Jebel Ali will showcase contemporary urban planning with mixed-use neighborhoods, smart city technologies, and sustainable practices. It will set a global standard for waterfront living and transform Dubai’s landscape.
Sustainability is a key focus for Palm Jebel Ali, with renewable energy integrated into its infrastructure. Once finished, it aims to be nearly self-sufficient in power generation, obtaining 30% of its energy from renewable sources.
