Acting on the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, announced a cabinet reshuffle.
Sheikh Mohammed confirmed the appointment of Ahmed Al Sayegh as Minister of Health and Prevention, succeeding AbdulRahman Al Owais, who will continue to serve as Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs. He expressed appreciation for Al Owais’s contributions in advancing the federal healthcare system and extended best wishes to both leaders in their new roles.
Al Sayegh previously served as Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2018, where he oversaw the economic and commercial portfolio and supported the UAE’s diversification strategy.
During his tenure as Minister of State, Al Sayegh also managed the UAE’s bilateral relations with Asian nations and CIS member states, strengthening strategic partnerships and fostering new investment opportunities.
Beyond government, he holds multiple leadership positions, including roles on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee at ADNOC, the Board of the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD), and as Vice Chairman of Emirates Nature–WWF. He also serves as Co-Chair of the UAE-UK Business Council.
Al Sayegh’s previous leadership roles span both public and private sectors, having served as Chairman of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), Aldar Properties, and Masdar, as well as holding board positions with Etihad Airways Group, Mubadala Investment Company, and Vice Chairman of First Gulf Bank. He also held senior posts at ADNOC and the Abu Dhabi Investment Company.
He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Lewis & Clark College in the United States.
