Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced that over AED 1B in housing applications has been approved for more than 1,300 citizens this month through the Zayed Housing Programme. The number of beneficiaries is expected to grow throughout the year, with all applications to be fulfilled. Over the past two years, 13,000 citizen applications have been processed, with the current waiting period reduced to two months one of the shortest globally.
Sheikh Mohammed revealed plans to streamline approvals further by integrating financing and housing agencies, aiming to grant approvals within a single day. “Citizens deserve better services, a better life, and a brighter future,” he said.
The Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme has also increased housing aid to AED 1.2M for homes built within designated residential compounds, while those constructed outside are capped at AED 800,000. In June 2023, Sheikh Mohammed approved AED 1.68B in housing support, enabling the construction of 2,160 new homes for citizens.
This initiative aligns with the UAE’s Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme, which aims to simplify procedures and improve services, reinforcing the country’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for its people.
