H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Finance, met today with Gilles Roth, Luxembourg’s Minister of Finance, to discuss enhanced cooperation in key sectors including finance, trade, innovation, and emerging technologies. The meeting was held at the offices of the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) at One Za’abeel.
Strengthening Strategic Economic Alignment
The dialogue underscored the strong strategic alignment between the UAE and Luxembourg in shaping resilient, future-ready financial ecosystems. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to advancing bilateral ties through deeper investment linkages, collaboration in fintech, and expansion into digital financial services.
With the UAE recognised as a global hub for innovation, the two leaders acknowledged the country’s progressive regulatory frameworks and advanced financial infrastructure as key enablers for Luxembourg-based companies eyeing regional and international growth. The UAE’s role as a strategic bridge to global markets was emphasised during the discussions.

The meeting also explored new areas of collaboration in sustainable finance and financial innovation. Opportunities to strengthen relationships between sovereign wealth funds and financial centres from both countries were actively reviewed.
This discussion reflects a broader effort to enhance cooperation across institutions and build synergies that support the global sustainability agenda, particularly through innovative financial products and investment channels.
