Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, has launched the MyDubai Communities platform—an inclusive digital hub designed to connect citizens, residents, and visitors through shared passions and interests.
The new initiative builds on the success of the #MyDubai campaign launched in 2014. That earlier campaign captured life in Dubai through user-generated content, highlighting the city’s diversity, identity, and everyday experiences. Now, MyDubai Communities takes the next step by organizing these shared interests into structured, interest-based communities.
Accessible via mydubaicommunities.com and social platforms such as Instagram and TikTok (@mydubaicommunities), the platform provides a centralised way for users to discover and join more than 100 curated community groups.
MyDubai Communities: Celebrating Diversity in the Year of Community
The launch aligns with the UAE’s 2025 “Year of Community” initiative, which aims to create inclusive spaces that foster collaboration, belonging, and cultural exchange. With Dubai’s population of 3.85 million people—representing nearly 200 nationalities—the platform encourages social interaction across different age groups, backgrounds, and cultures.
Users can explore communities focused on sports, wellness, arts, culture, and professional interests. The platform also highlights niche groups such as car enthusiasts, cyclists, mothers, women-only clubs, reading circles, and more. In under five minutes, individuals can join or list their own community.
This structure is designed to encourage creativity, strengthen connections, and nurture a sense of belonging among Dubai’s residents and visitors.
Driving Forward Dubai’s Vision of Global Excellence
Sheikh Hamdan stated that the platform reflects Dubai’s forward-thinking approach under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. He noted that a city’s true success lies not only in its infrastructure but in the strength and vitality of its communities.
The MyDubai Communities initiative supports the Dubai Social Agenda 33, which aims to rank Dubai among the top three cities in global living standards. It also aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, highlighting the city’s commitment to social development and economic prosperity.
Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), commented on the significance of the launch. He said the platform provides a seamless and inclusive gateway for people to actively engage with the city’s multicultural fabric.
“MyDubai Communities is set to be a cornerstone of our mission to enhance Dubai’s status as a leading destination to live, work, and visit,” he added.
With its sleek and intuitive design, the platform ensures easy access to a wide range of activities, enabling all users to contribute meaningfully to Dubai’s evolving social landscape
