H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, has announced a series of high-level appointments across major Dubai government entities. These decisions, approved by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, reflect the emirate’s ongoing drive to reinforce leadership across key sectors aligned with its long-term strategic vision.
Strengthening Leadership in Health and Urban Development
Among the notable appointments, Dr. Alawi Alsheikh Ali has been named Director General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). Sheikh Hamdan conveyed his best wishes for Dr. Ali’s success in furthering Dubai’s healthcare ambitions. He also extended gratitude to Awad Seghayer Al Ketbi for his committed service and contributions during his tenure at the DHA, wishing him continued success in the future.
In a move to reinforce municipal development, Eng. Marwan bin Ghalita was confirmed as Director General of Dubai Municipality, following his service in an interim capacity. Further leadership changes include the appointment of Omar Bushahab as Director General of the Dubai Land Department and Chairman of the Board of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment. In addition, Mohammed Al Shehhi has been named Acting CEO of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, supporting the government’s mission to provide high-quality housing services to citizens.
In the security sector, Major General Harib Mohammed Al Shamsi was appointed Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police for Criminal Affairs, while Major General Ahmed Zaal Al Muhairi was named Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police for Administrative Affairs. These appointments reflect Dubai’s continued focus on maintaining excellence in law enforcement and public safety.
