His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council, and His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, have approved 200 initiatives for implementation in the 2023-2024 period.
Dubai Municipality is planning to execute 200 initiatives within the next two years to improve the lives of the city’s inhabitants. Around 60% of these projects will involve collaborations with private entities and will include sustainability efforts and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of Dubai.
The Municipality is currently engaged in planting 500 trees every day and has successfully planted 500,000 over the past three years. During a visit to the Municipality, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed and H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed expressed their confidence in the Municipality’s ability to enhance the quality of life in Dubai and to strengthen its global standing by partnering with the private sector.
The Municipality aims to increase private sector partnerships to 60% and achieve a 90% customer satisfaction rate. Additionally, it has planted over 500,000 trees and produced 136 million seedlings of plants and flowers in its nurseries between 2020 and 2022, contributing to Dubai’s beautification. Dubai Municipality’s 100 Year Project, featuring the world’s largest sustainable rainwater tunnel, has boosted the emirate’s sustainability efforts, achieving high indices for soil, air, and water quality.
The Municipality also increased land allocation for citizen residential areas by 200% and developed several parks and sports grounds. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed and H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed were briefed on new initiatives, including a unified investment platform, a Geospatial Digital Twin Project, and a biogas-to-energy project aimed at reducing energy consumption. Dubai Beautification Agenda aims to promote well-being through innovative landscaping projects.
