His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum — Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council — met today with Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al‑Salem Al‑Sabah, Kuwait’s Minister of Defence.
Sheikh Hamdan and Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al‑Salem Al‑Sabah participated in segments of the UAE‑Kuwait Media Forum, which was held at the Museum of the Future in Dubai.
The event is part of the ‘UAE & Kuwait: Brothers Forever’ Week, taking place from 29 January to 4 February across the emirates.
During the forum, both dignitaries attended multiple sessions emphasising the enduring fraternal bonds between the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.
These sessions featured strategic talks with prominent figures from diplomatic, cultural and sporting sectors, focusing on future collaboration while revisiting the shared historical, cultural and humanitarian milestones that have tied the two nations together.
Sheikh Hamdan described the UAE‑Kuwait relationship as an exceptional example of brotherly ties between states, rooted in trust, mutual respect and a common vision for a prosperous future that advances development and wellbeing for both countries.
He added that both countries take pride in their long journey of partnership across political, economic, cultural and social domains, and reaffirmed their commitment to advancing this strategic cooperation to benefit shared goals and aspirations.
Sheikh Abdullah Al Sabah noted that ties between Kuwait and the UAE are grounded in deep historical connections and strong humanitarian values, and that the relationship continues to grow under the leadership of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Kuwait’s Emir Sheikh Mishal Al‑Ahmad Al‑Jaber Al‑Sabah.
He praised the UAE for organising the ‘UAE & Kuwait: Brothers Forever’ Week, calling it a genuine reflection of the affection and fraternal bonds between the two nations.
He added that the initiative creates an important platform to deepen strategic cooperation and broaden it into areas that serve the mutual interests of both countries.
The forum also included a session titled “The Gulf War and Emirati‑Kuwaiti Solidarity,” highlighting participants’ reflections on the UAE’s support during Kuwait’s 1990 invasion, including humanitarian and military contributions and firsthand accounts from retired military officials.
