Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, explored avenues to strengthen economic cooperation with the UK during a call with Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper.
The leaders also discussed a range of regional and international issues, including developments in the Middle East, emphasising the need to support initiatives that promote peace, security, and stability both regionally and globally.
On the Russia-Ukraine-US trilateral talks hosted in Abu Dhabi, they highlighted the importance of these discussions in facilitating political solutions to the crisis and enhancing international peace and security.
Sheikh Abdullah had previously expressed hope that the talks would achieve tangible progress in resolving a conflict that has persisted for nearly four years, causing severe humanitarian challenges.
He noted that hosting the trilateral discussions underscores the UAE’s trusted role in fostering peace, encouraging dialogue, and turning regional challenges into opportunities.
