H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, a Supreme Council Member and the Ruler of Sharjah, has issued an Emiri Decree founding the “Sharjah Digital Department.”
The Decree specifies the establishment of a government department in the Emirate of Sharjah known as the “Sharjah Digital Department,” endowed with legal personality and the capacity to fulfil its responsibilities.
The Sharjah Digital Department takes the place of both the Sharjah E-Government Department and the Sharjah Digital Office. All rights, assets, and duties previously held by the E-Government Department and the Sharjah Digital Office are now vested in the new department.
Employees from the e-Government Department and the Sharjah Digital Office will be transitioned to the Sharjah Digital Department, retaining their grades, financial allocations, and other benefits, according to WAM.
