His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has announced a series of transformative projects aimed at elevating Kalba into a cultural and environmental hub.
The centerpiece of the development is a new museum dedicated to showcasing the rich heritage and traditions of the region. The museum will be complemented by a rejuvenated park surrounding the historic Khor Kalba Fort, offering visitors a serene green space.
A key component of the plan is the creation of a dedicated environmental, archaeological, and heritage tourism program that will capitalize on Kalba’s unique natural and cultural assets.
To enhance accessibility and visitor experience, Sheikh Dr. Sultan also announced the completion of the Kalba Gate project. This pedestrian walkway connects the stunning hanging gardens to the serene Al Hefaiyah Lake, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the city. Safety features, including a protective railing, have been incorporated to ensure visitor comfort and security.
These initiatives underscore Sharjah’s commitment to preserving its cultural heritage while fostering sustainable tourism and economic growth.
