Sharjah Municipality remains steadfast in its efforts to alleviate the impact of intense rainfall in the area by dispatching 65 community service patrols to locations affected by the downpour.
Utilising all available resources, including its fleet of vehicles, the municipality aims to minimise damage, enhance traffic flow, and ensure the safety of residents and their possessions. A dedicated team is working tirelessly to conduct on-site assessments across Sharjah’s various regions.
Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director-General of Sharjah Municipality and Head of the High Committee for Rain Emergencies, emphasised the municipality’s dedication to addressing significant water accumulation resulting from heavy rainfall. He praised the prompt response of mobilising committees and staff, as well as the declaration of a state of emergency to effectively manage the situation.
Al Tunaiji highlighted the municipality’s proactive measures, which include deploying field teams and 65 patrols to carry out vital communal and humanitarian tasks. These initiatives involve assisting affected families in accessing designated shelters, aiding stranded individuals in flooded areas, clearing obstructed vehicles, and providing assistance to vulnerable groups such as the elderly and other community members in need.
