The Abu Dhabi Media Office (ADMO) announced on Wednesday plans to establish a state-of-the-art paediatric centre of excellence in Abu Dhabi, in partnership with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, which is renowned for its leading paediatric care in the US.
The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) and Pure Health, the largest healthcare provider in the Middle East, will collaborate with Cincinnati Children’s to inaugurate the facility.
This initiative follows approval from Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, to develop a dedicated medical city focusing on the healthcare needs of women and children.
“Through the establishment of a paediatrics centre of excellence in collaboration with SEHA and Cincinnati Children’s, we’re not only progressing healthcare, but also investing in the wellbeing and longevity of our children. Together, we’re building a lasting legacy of health, empowering our children to shape a more optimistic and vibrant future,” stated Shaista Asif, CEO of PureHealth Group.
Currently, SEHA’s Sheikh Khalifa Medical City houses a centre of excellence for paediatric heart conditions.
The forthcoming paediatric centre will offer specialised services including paediatric oncology, haematology, nephrology, metabolic disorders, and minimally invasive procedures for children, according to the announcement.
“We are confident that the partnership will enhance the healthcare landscape in Abu Dhabi, bolstering local capabilities in medicine, research, and innovation,” remarked Saeed Jaber Mohd Al Kuwaiti, CEO of SEHA Group.
The collaboration also aims to advance research and develop innovative treatments, with Cincinnati Children’s providing services and expertise to the centre.
In agreement, Dr Steve Davis, President & CEO of Cincinnati Children’s, commented: “At Cincinnati Children’s, we advocate for the availability of top-quality care to every child. “
