The King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) in Saudi Arabia and the World Economic Forum (WEF) have launched a new accelerator programme with the goal of fostering innovation in the country.
Based on the new programme, the state-backed KACST will work with WEF to “connect experts and knowledge partners from the public and private sector to identify and unlock new promising markets as part of the ongoing work to transform Saudi’s economy,” according to Zawya News. Saudi Arabia intends to create a virtual “home” in the community, creating doors for opportunity, funding, and international cooperation among national stakeholders. It will hold gatherings and other events that foster communication and knowledge exchange.
Early this year, the WEF made plans to establish the Global Collaboration Village to encourage public-private cooperation and address the most urgent global issues.
