The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) and the Ministry of Sport have unveiled designs for the King Salman Stadium, which will be among the largest sports venues worldwide.
Situated in northern Riyadh, the stadium will serve as the base for the Saudi national team and host major sports events. It is located on King Salman Road next to King Abdulaziz Park, near key landmarks like King Khalid International Airport and Riyadh Metro station.
The project, supported by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, aims to establish Saudi Arabia as a leading sports hub and enhance athlete development.
The main stadium will feature green walls and ceilings, covering over 96,500 square metres, in line with green building standards. It will accommodate 92,000 spectators, including a 150-seat royal suite, 120 hospitality suites, and 2,200 dignitary seats.
Sustainable features include cooling systems, large indoor screens, indoor gardens, and a walking track with views of King Abdulaziz Park. The stadium complex will span over 660,000 square metres, with sports facilities, commercial centres, and recreational areas.
Supporting Saudi Vision 2030, the stadium aims to boost sports activities, attract global events, and contribute to the local economy, while enhancing Riyadh’s quality of life and global standing.
