At the Municipal Investment Forum on Wednesday, Saudi Entertainment Ventures (SEVEN) revealed that work has begun on the kingdom’s Tabuk city entertainment destination (Furas). The entertainment destination, organised by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs (MoMRA), has a development value of more than SAR 1B.
The entertainment attraction is situated on King Faisal Road and is built to resemble a village tucked amid green spaces and recreational areas, extending the surroundings inside. Visitors will be able to tour the space under a colourful glass canopy that draws inspiration from regional arts and customs, as well as a cutting-edge hydroponic tower that honours the city’s agricultural contribution to the kingdom.
“We have appreciated the city’s rich culture and heritage in the development of our entertainment destination, infusing it with Tabuk’s unique features and ensuring that our destination will cater to the needs of all in Tabuk. Our entertainment destination gates will support the local economy, create job opportunities for the city’s people, and enrich the lives of those living in and visiting Tabuk,” SEVEN’s chairman Abdullah AlDawood said.
Visitors can access a 4,000 square metre highly immersive family entertainment centre, a second junior family entertainment centre, as well as a Discovery Adventures centre that displays Discovery content developed in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery. “We are thrilled to be part of SEVEN’s entertainment project in Tabuk. Our commitment to SEVEN is to deliver world-class entertainment facilities. The entertainment sector is growing rapidly in the Kingdom, and we aspire to support it to become a social and economic catalyst,” said Albawani Holding’s group chief executive officer, Fakher AlShawaf.
A 10-screen movie theatre, according to Arabian Business an indoor adventure golf course, a 10-lane futuristic bowling alley, and an e-karting track will also be part of SEVEN’s entertainment complex in Tabuk. According to the company, “there will also be a multi-purpose event space hosting a variety of events and a wide variety of local and international retail, food, and beverage outlets.” SEVEN is investing more than SAR 50B to build 21 entertainment destinations that will offer distinctive and innovative world-class entertainment experiences and global partnerships from within the sector, the company said.
