Dubai’s leading toll operator, Salik, has taken a significant step beyond its usual remit by extending its parking services to locations outside the emirate. This strategic move comes through a partnership with Parkonic, a prominent private parking operator managing 107 sites across the UAE.
The new alliance, formalized on Thursday through a five-year contract, designates Salik as Parkonic’s preferred payment provider for all its current and future locations. This partnership leverages Salik’s efficient payment platform, offering users a seamless experience for paid parking.
Parkonic will incorporate Salik’s eWallet system into its operations, with a percentage of parking revenues generated via this method being allocated to Salik. The initiative covers over 135,000 parking spaces nationwide and will commence in the first quarter of 2025.
Salik’s CEO, Ibrahim Sultan Al Haddad, expressed enthusiasm for this milestone, stating, “Our strategic partnership with Parkonic will facilitate advanced parking payment solutions across approximately 135,000 spaces and 107 locations in the UAE, and marks the first time Salik has expanded beyond Dubai. This move further boosts Salik’s non-toll revenues and underscores our commitment to enhancing our technology platform beyond our core services.”
The expansion aligns with Salik’s ongoing mission to diversify and augment its revenue streams, offering convenient solutions that benefit both users and partners across the UAE.
