Riyadh Air and the Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) have forged a fresh alliance with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024.
The collaboration aims to enrich the travel experience to and from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Riyadh Air aims to extend its reach to more than 100 countries by 2030, with this partnership geared towards fostering cooperation on various initiatives aimed at enhancing tourist services and experiences.
CEO of STA, Fhad Hamidaddin, remarked, “Enhancing Saudi Arabia’s global connectivity stands as a fundamental aspect of our tourism strategy, ensuring sustained growth and striving to achieve our ambitious target of welcoming 150 million visitors by 2030.”
He further elaborated on the partnership’s significance, noting that it will facilitate more visitors to explore the diverse attractions of Saudi Arabia, including its scenic mountains, pristine waters, and vibrant cities, which make it an appealing destination throughout the year.
Hamidaddin also highlighted the aspirations to triple annual passenger traffic to 330 million by 2030 and expressed confidence that this collaboration will accelerate these efforts.
Tony Douglas, CEO of Riyadh Air, echoed the sentiment, describing the partnership as a significant milestone for the airline. He emphasized their joint commitment to enhancing the travel experience for both guests and visitors to Saudi Arabia, underscoring their dedication to raising aviation standards and innovating in areas like sustainability.
The partnership will concentrate on various aspects such as expanding to new destinations, conducting marketing campaigns, sponsoring events, participating in international exhibitions, improving loyalty programs, enhancing distribution channels, introducing new payment solutions, and supporting the tourism accelerator program, all aligned with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
